One man is dead after a three-vehicle crash near the intersection of South College Street and Sandhill Road/Lee Road 10 in Auburn on Wednesday.
The accident took place at approximately 5 p.m. after one of the vehicles involved, traveling east on Sandhill Road, was struck by a second vehicle, traveling south on South College Street. The second vehicle was then struck by a third vehicle.
One of the vehicles’ drivers, described as a Macon County man whose identity was not released pending notification of family, was transported to Opelika’s East Alabama Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson said.
The drivers of the other two vehicles did not require hospitalization, Dawson said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by Auburn police.
