One adult and two teenagers were arrested Monday by Auburn Police and charged with several felonies, including rape, sodomy and burglary.
Lakeith D. Black, 18, from Waverly was arrested and charged along with a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, both from Auburn. They were charged with burglary first degree, theft of property first degree, rape first degree and sodomy first degree. The 15-year-old was also charged with receiving stolen property second degree. The Auburn Police Division announced the arrest in a written statement.
At approximately 1 a.m. Monday, Auburn officers responded to a reported burglary and sexual assault that had just occurred at a residence on West Longleaf Drive. The victim, a 19-year-old female, told officers that three individuals forced entry into her residence. She said they sexually assaulted her and stole various electronic devices as well as her vehicle, a 2010 Kia Forte valued at over $7,700.
Officers immediately located the victim's vehicle, which had been involved in a one vehicle accident and abandoned by the suspects in the 1600 block of Lee Road 12. Later on Monday, the three individuals were developed as suspects and taken into custody.
Officers were able to recover the property. The APD stated that the investigation is ongoing and an additional arrest is expected.
Black and the 16-year-old were transported to the Lee County Jail, and are each eligible for a $155,000 bond. The 15-year-old was transported to the Lee County Youth Detention Center and is awaiting a detention and transfer hearing.
