Alabama Auburn prof leads ACES team in statewide health workshops

8 multi-session events will address obesity causes

Eight educators are conducting “Eat Healthy, Be Active” workshops throughout Alabama to address the poor eating habits and physical inactivity that cause the state to have one of the highest obesity rates in the nation.

The eight-member team of educators is from the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Onikia Brown, an Alabama Extension nutrition and health specialist and assistant professor in Auburn University’s Department of Nutrition and Food Science, is heading the effort.
