Auburn University plans events to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

Although Martin Luther King’s birthday was Tuesday, Auburn University will host a week’s worth of activities in honor of the late minister and civil rights activist.

Paulette Dilworth, assistant vice president for access and community initiatives for the Office ofDiversity and Multicultural Affairs, said that starting Thursday, there will be difference activities involving the legacy of King which will include guest speakers and community service projects. The theme of the upcoming week is The Time is Always Right to Do What’s Right,” which was based on a speech King once gave.
