Tourism bureau: Auburn A-Day weekend to have $1.4M impact on local economy

While the first game of the season for the Auburn University football team is more than four months off, it might be difficult to tell the difference this weekend as Auburn hotels find themselves booked to capacity ahead of the annual A-Day game and “Celebrate the Tradition” block party at Toomer’s Corner.

“The hotels are full,” said Robyn L. Bridges, Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau vice president, on Tuesday. “That never happens for any regular (season) football game … much less A-Day.”
