A Vestavia Hills man was arrested Thursday and charged with breaking and entering and theft of property in regard to an Auburn case that took place last November, law enforcement reported Friday.

Officers with the Auburn Police Division arrested Lucas S. Martin, 21, and charged him on warrants for unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and third-degree theft of property, according to a release sent out by the APD. The arrest stems from an investigation of a police report dated Nov. 27, 2012 in which the victim stated that someone entered her vehicle, which was parked at her residence in the 400 Block of North Donahue Drive and stole a textbook and a Garmin GPS system. Martin surrendered to officers at the APD on Thursday.
