State rests in Whatley case

The defense attorney for Clarence Whatley, a former radio personality accused of first-degree sodomy with a minor, began its case Thursday following the State resting its case.

Assistant District Attorney Kisha Abercrombie began the day by calling on her last witness, Anne Freeman, whom who had taken the minor to the emergency room at East Alabama Medical Center to be tested for sexual assault. Freeman said the victim had told her about the alleged incidents where Whatley had inappropriately touched her.
