East Alabama Medical Center Opelika hospital amends visitation policy over flu concern

Certain units to have restrictions implemented Friday

In reaction to a recent uptick in area flu cases, the East Alabama Medical Center announced changes to its visitation policy Thursday.

Starting Friday, visitation to the Opelika hospital’s newborn, pediatrics and intensive care units will be restricted to immediate family only, EAMC infection prevention manager Brooke Bailey said.
