State requests Updyke pay $1M in Toomer's Oaks restitution

Though he's currently in jail, the case against Harvey Updyke isn't over.

A motion was recently filed by the Lee County District Attorney’s office requesting that Updyke, who pleaded guilty in March to poisoning the Toomer’s Oaks, pay more than $1.042 million in restitution for the destruction of the trees.
