East Alabama Children’s Choir to hold Spring Concert
This month, True Deliverance Holiness Church will host ‘A Healthier Lifestyle for a Healthier You: A Salute to Our Men,’ a health workshop specifically geared toward men of the minority and larger communities.
The Auburn University Singers will present the opening performance of their 2008 annual Spring Show on Saturday, April 26, at 3:30 p.m in AU’s Telfair Peet Theater. Other performances are
scheduled for Sunday, April 27, at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Tuesday, April 29, at 5:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
Author and radio personality Garrison Keillor brings his seat-of-the-pants style of storytelling to the Opelika Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday to a sold-out crowd.
Children’s book author visits Auburn school
The national tour of “A Year With Frog and Toad,” an IntraMusic Theatricals production and part of The Arts Association of East Alabama 2007-2008 Adventure Series for school-age audiences, opened Wednesday at the Opelika Center for the Performing Arts.
Two nationally known and locally grown musicians, Ernie Rowell and Harlan Burton, will perform in a Benefit Concert for their friend Joel Grantham, a local radio personality.
While Burton’s upcoming concert schedule lists concert dates across the Southeast, the one listed for Saturday, April 12, is a benefit singing for Joel Grantham, former DJ with the Kicker (WKKR) and WJHO, featuring Ernie Rowell and Harlan Burton at 6:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church, 1611 Second Ave., Opelika.
The March of Dimes will hold its “March for Babies” April 19 at Municipal Park in Opelika.

Thursday night third- through fifth-graders got a “hop” on the Easter festivities at Opelika’s “Flashlight Egg Hunt” at Moore Stadium. During the event, the Easter Chicken, Bunny and Egg got in some dancing before Opelika Parks and Recreation kicked of the eighth annual evening egg hunt Thursday. Then armed with flashlights and Easter baskets, children searched for treasure.
This weekend the Auburn Parks and Recreation Department along with Wachovia Bank will host the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Kiesel Park.
The Opelika Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring two days of activities to help the community celebrate Easter.
