An Auburn woman reported that she was sexually assaulted Sunday by a man who came to her door asking for help, according to a statement released by Auburn police.
The stranger knocked at the 23-year-old woman’s house in the 2700 block of Lee Road 12 late Sunday afternoon asking for help because his vehicle had broken down, according to the statement.
He then drew a handgun, forced his way into her house and sexually assaulted her, the statement said. Then, the man apparently fled the area on foot.
The woman was taken to East Alabama Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
The man is described as a white man with a goatee and brown eyes, approximately 38 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.
He was wearing blue jeans, a short-sleeved white and blue striped button-down shirt and gray and white athletic shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to call Auburn police at 501-3100 or the tip line at 501-7337.
