MONTGOMERY — Some supporters of Democratic 2nd District Congressional candidate Bobby Bright are putting up yard signs that claim ``I’m A Bright Republican.’’
Bright, the three-term mayor of Montgomery, says the signs reflect his effort to reach across party lines for support.
But Republican leaders say Bright has received financial support from national Democrats and that the signs are misleading.
Bright faces state Republican Rep. Jay Love of Montgomery in the Nov. 4 general election. Love said he believes Bright is trying to make people think he’s a Republican while he runs as a Democrat.
