Auburn University has joined with the University of Georgia, North Carolina State University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service to establish a new National Egg Processing Center in Auburn.

The center will provide opportunities for collaborative, multidisciplinary research and outreach projects.

The new center will hold its inaugural meeting Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the AU Poultry Farm.

The open meeting, which will include several federal officials and representatives of the nation’s egg industry, will explore the industry’s key needs and research and outreach programs that would address those needs.

All AU faculty are invited to attend for the opportunity to learn about the center and about possible research collaborations. There is no cost to attend the event, but registration is requested. Contact Regina Crapps at 844-2610 or to register.
