Phelps group plans protest at Burk funeral

Westboro Baptist Church, a group known for protesting and picketing funerals and memorials of fallen soldiers, is planning to picket at the Sunday afternoon funeral of 18-year-old Auburn freshman Lauren Burk, according to the group’s Web site. Burk was killed Tuesday night. Police are investigating her death as a murder.
Westboro Baptist Church, established in 1955, is an Kansas-based organization lead by Pastor Fred Phelps.
The group is also planning to picket the funeral of Eve Carson, UNC student body president who was killed Wednesday morning.
Both funerals are listed on the WBC site’s online picket schedule for Sunday.

Sorry CNNHater, these are just your run-of-the-mill right wingnuts. They are bible-thumping Christians who preach that, and I quote, “God hates fags.”
Look no further than the conservative Republican movement against homosexual couples to find the origins of the Phelps loons.

What a gutless bunch of news whores. They ruin the lives of the families of innocent victims with their news generating trash. Any pastor should be ashamed of being associated with such trash. If they had any morals, compassion, or soul, they would wait till the trial is over, then protest the life of the murderer. His life ws the only total waste, at least the girl was trying to mak a life of her own. I’m furious at groups like these who exist for their own selfish gratification.

I pray for the Burk family. May God give them strength. The Auburn family loves you and will never forget.
These Phelps group are just a small portion of the many twisted and gullible minds which make up the pack of whackos that support power hungry politicians lead by Obama and Clinton.
Brave Americans gave their lives so people like the Phelps group could practice insensitive acts without consequence from the law and actually be protected by the law.
(Friends this is a result of our liberal minded politicians).
May Phelps and his followers burn in the bowels of Hell for eternity.

This group also has a track record of posting locations where they will “protest”, and then not showing up. They get lots of free attention, people get riled up, and they don’t have to leave their cave. As the saying goes in blogtopia, “Don’t feed the trolls.” They’ll starve without the attention.

Just look at how you brutes carry on. You’re violent, vicious and vulgar, from the least to the greatest of you. This land is writing in pain as God pours out his wrath on you, and NONE OF YOU has the sense to shut up and obey God. He’s opened his armory and brought forth his instruments of war. God is the #1 enemy of this nation—and no other enemy matters.
This doomed nation has raised a generation of violent self-indulgent brats. They now fill up the campuses and battle fields. God is killing them in various and sundry ways because of the sins of this nation.
The parents, teachers, “preachers,” and “leaders” of Doomed america taught this generation they did not have to follow the laws of God. They taught them to fornicate whenever they feel like it, and if they want to throw in a little sodomy along the way, that’s just fine. The “it’s OK to be gay,” and “God loves everybody” lies ring from sea to shining sea. You taught them God is a liar. Now he’s showing you that He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and EVERY KNEE WILL BOW AND CONFESS THAT HE IS GOD. Stop disobeying his standard with your every breath, and the shooters will stop coming and taking your young people. You raised them for the murderer with all your lies and modeling of violence and disobedience. What did you THINK was going to happen you fools?
Now the laws of man mean nothing. The university president’s letter is impotent and too late. Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain (Ps. 127:1). The Lord is not keeping your house Doomed america. You’ve lifted your arrogant middle finger to him one time too many. No matter how many laws you pass, how many security measures you put in place, or how many words you grind out into the airwaves—God hates america, and there is no peace for you EVER AGAIN.

Stop puffing your tiny chests and running your big mouths. Pick up a Bible; read it; AND OBEY. That is the only hope for anyone today. It’s take-a-drink-from-a-chilled-glass-of-shut-the-hell-up-and-OBEY time.
None of your angry words or threats of violence—which predictably are pouring in through the media mutts, and our phones and e-mails—will change a thing. God hates you for your sins. The siege is coming! We will picket this highly public event, on the public sidewalk (stop all that ignorant talk about fire in a theater; it’s a public sidewalk dummies!), and remind you of your duty to God. That duty will NEVER go away. It is eternal and everlasting. It applies to every human ever born to live on this earth, even for a minute. It applied to the young lady cut off early in life for the sins of this nation. It applies TO YOU!
The duty of the prophets of God is to tell you the facts. These are the facts, and your raging rabid brats that swarm the campuses of Doomed america—all of which are in pure terror at this hour at the hand of the Lord your God—won’t deter us.

OMG!! How can these idiots even have the guts to say that they are Christians?!!! These idiots are obviously devils posing as Christians!!!
Once you think the world can’t get any worse, something like this happens!! I am with the rest of you in hoping that they are arrested and run out of town!!! This makes me physically sick!!
God, please be with these families of these murdered girls and protect them from these devils!!

I surely hope that nobody does anything so stupid as that. The last thing that we need is for a group as despicable as the Phelpses to be dignified as free speech martyrs.
When the Phelpses have picketed funerals of soldiers, AIDS patients, gay-bashing victims, etc., what people have done about it is to gather up a group of supporters to form a disciplined, nonviolent circle around the funeral site in order to protect the mourners from having to see or hear the Phelpses’ vile antics. The Phelpses thrive on courting hatred and provoking reaction; the best way to deal with them is to shield the grieving family and friends, and let the Phelpses do their disgusting little rant-and-rave at nobody in particular.
