The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man they consider “armed and dangerous,” according to a statement released Thursday. Law enforcement believe the man was one of the shooters who shot from a car into an occupied Smiths Station house July 17.
A reward is being offered for information on Timothy Lashan Robinson, 33, of Columbus, Ga.
Robinson is described as a black man, 6 feet, 1 inches tall, 165 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, a dreadlock-style haircut, medium build and medium complexion. His entire left arm is covered with a tattoo, and he has one or two gold teeth in the front of his mouth. He often wears a black bandana around his right forearm, according to the statement.
Anyone with information should call Lee County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-522-7847.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. July 17, a Lee Road 941 resident in Smiths Station said someone fired several bullets into their home, injuring one person. Deputies arrived to find a woman suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. She was transported to The Medical Center in Columbus, where she was treated and released. A man and two children were also in the house but were not injured.
Two vehicles leaving the area led deputies on a high-speed chase. Deputies caught one on Lee Road 248, where the occupants fled on foot. The second vehicle chase ended in Columbus, where one man was arrested and another fled on foot.
LCSO Capt. Van Jackson said Robinson was likely the occupant of the second car.
“Right now, we strongly believe he is possibly in the Phenix City or Columbus area,” Jackson said Thursday. “We believe he was one of the shooters.”
Evidence at the scene indicated several weapons were used in the shooting, he said. People shouldn’t try to deal with Robinson directly, Jackson said.
“We have information he is possibly in possession of a firearm still,” Jackson said. “Please contact your local law enforcement authorities and let them take care of it.”
