Seven people were injured in a Friday night fight in Beauregard, Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones said.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday, several uninvited people showed up to a graduation party at a residence on Lee Road 27, Jones said, referring to an incident report.

“…They were told to leave,” Jones said. “They did, and they came back with additional people, and that’s when the problems developed.”

An altercation broke out involving multiple people, he said.

Seven people sustained injuries as a result:

- A 41-year-old man was kicked in the ribs and hit with a chair.

- An 18-year-old man suffered a laceration on his body. He was treated at East Alabama Medical Center and released.

- A 20-year-old woman received a cut on her thigh. Jones said he did not know whether or not a weapon was involved.

- A 16-year-old boy was stabbed. He said it was an accident and that he did not want to prosecute, Jones said.

- A 22-year-old man was stabbed in the right forearm and treated at the scene. He declined to cooperate with law enforcement, Jones said.

- A 41-year-old man had some physical injuries to his head, but they were not serious, and there was no indication of a weapon involved, Jones said.

Investigators have developed suspects, and the incident is still under investigation, Jones said.

In a separate incident, a rumor spread that there might be “trouble” at Beauregard High School Monday morning, Jones said. The rumors were connected to the Friday incident.

“As a precautionary measure, we had some additional personnel in the area (Monday),” Jones said. “No incidents occurred.”
