Three injured in Saturday shootings

A domestic dispute at a mobile home park Saturday left three victims with gunshot wounds, according to Opelika police Capt. Allan Elkins.
Bonnie Faye Sellers, 46, of Opelika was shot in the lower abdomen, Elkins said. As of 9:45 p.m., she was undergoing surgery.
Barbara Tielking Sims, 47, of Opelika was shot in the hip, Elkins said, adding that the she is listed in stable condition. Billy Jack McCormack, 29, of Opelika was shot in the leg. He was treated and released.
Elkins said all three shootings occurred at Oak Haven Mobile Home Park, 3503 Marvyn Parkway.
“This was a domestic dispute,” Elkins said. He said Sellers and Sims were transported to East Alabama Medical Center and that McCormack went by private vehicle.
Elkins said the call came in at 6:22 p.m. and no arrests had been made as of Saturday evening. The case remains under investigation .
Village Mall temporarily evacuated after emergency call
Village Mall in Auburn was evacuated Saturday just more than an hour before closing after the smell of smoke was detected in the building, according to Auburn public safety officials. A belt reportedly burned in an air handler unit of the roof, according to police. No injuries or damage were reported.
