Two Lanett men were hospitalized early Sunday morning with gunshot wounds stemming from a possible domestic situation, according to Valley police.
According to a press release from the Valley Police Department, at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call of shots fired between two subjects in different vehicles in the parking area between Waffle House and the Circle K on Fob James Drive. The vehicles left the scene before officers arrived.
A 38-year-old Lanett man was transported by personal vehicle to George H. Lanier Hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
A second man, 29, was transported to Lanier Hospital by Lanett EMS from a Lanett residence, where he was treated for a wound in the upper leg.
Both men were admitted to the hospital.
Initial investigation indicates that the incident may possibly stem from a domestic situation between the occupants of the two vehicles. Several witnesses were interviewed and two weapons were recovered, according to the release.
The Valley Police Department is not releasing names of the individuals involved due to the ongoing investigation.
