AU to honor ‘78 SEC baseball championship team

The Auburn athletics department and the Auburn Baseball Lettermen’s Club will recognize the 30th Anniversary of the 1978 SEC Championship baseball team during Saturday’s game 2 p.m. game versus LSU.
The 1978 team, led by head coach Paul Nix, captured the western division, regular season and tournament championship. The team also
participated in the NCAA Regional hosted by Auburn. The team finished the season 33-21 overall and 15-8 in the SEC.
Auburn and LSU play a three-game series beginning Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m. and conclude the regular season on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Tickets are available and may be purchased two hours prior to first pitch each day at the Plainsman Park Box Office.
