Auburn basketball rising junior forward Lucas Hargrove will accompany the Score International team on a mission and basketball trip to the Dominican Republic on a six-day trip.
“I am really excited to be going to another country,” said Hargrove, who leaves today and will return Aug. 12. “Whenever you can go to another country and represent the United States and show other people what you can do, it is exciting. It is going to be nice to gain
valuable experience on the mission trip as well.”
The team will meet in Atlanta today and practice before flying to the Dominican Republic on Thursday.
“This will be a very good experience for Lucas and will give him a head start on the upcoming season,” said Auburn head coach Jeff Lebo. “I know that he will make the most of it. It is an honor for him to represent the United States and Auburn University.”
Hargrove averaged 7.8 points and 4.4 rebounds in 21. 4 minutes last year. The Pontiac, S.C., native scored a career-high 28 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals vs. Alabama in his second career start.
