The Auburn football team keeps reaping the benefits from its first senior camp of the summer, which ended all the way back on June 15.
In the week after that camp, five attendees announced plans to sign with Auburn in February. Wednesday, a sixth camper revealed his plans to do the same.
St. Clair County defensive end Donald Ford is AU’s 19th verbal commitment for the 2009 recruiting class. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder is the class’ second defensive end.
“I’m so excited … I just love it there,” Ford told Auburnsports.com.
“I haven’t even gotten a chance to meet any of the players, see everything, but I absolutely love it anyways.”
Ford chose AU over scholarship offers from Florida State, Clemson, Mississippi State and Troy, among others.
Ford had 13 sacks in 12 games as a junior and blocked two punts.
