SHARPSBURG, Ga. — Ballard Christian took a split in its first-ever football jamboree Friday night.
The Eagles were competing in a jamboree hosted by Heritage Christian, where each team played a half against the other.
In the first game, Ballard defeated Trinity Christian, 22-18.
Kyle Hammock was 5-of-6 passing for 92 yards and a touchdown and Jud Butler had seven carries for 82 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
The Eagles lost in the second game, 28-8, to Heritage.
Butler had 56 yards rushing on five carries and Hammock had one touchdown pass.
“We had a couple turnovers in that second game that kind of killed us,” Ballard coach Buddy Hammock said. “Overall, for a first-year team we did pretty good. And we had a lot of fun.”
