AREA ROUNDUP: Beulah’s Harper headed to state

Beulah’s Jacob Harper shot 77 to qualify for the Class 3A state tournament on Monday afternoon.

Playing in the South Sub-State event at Cottonwood Golf Club in Montgomery, Harper turned in a round of 5-over par.

He will play as an individual at the state tournament next Monday and Tuesday at the Robert Trent Jones Trail course — The Shoals — in Muscle Shoals.

Glenwood softball duo honored by AISA
Glenwood softball players Terrell Dixon and Ollivia McLemore were named to the AISA AAA All-State softball team for their performance last weekend in the state tournament.

Glenwood finished third behind state champion Tuscaloosa Academy and runner-up Faith Academy.

It was the Gators’ first trip to the state softball tournament.
