Lee-Scott’s girls and boys cruised to a sweep over Hooper Academy on Saturday.
The No. 1 Warrior girls took a 54-16 win, led by 24 points from Jessie Washington, 22 of which came in the first half.
Melissa Maddox added 10 for LSA (16-1).
LSA’s boys (13-4) took a 78-51 win over Hooper, led by 11 points, eight assists and seven rebounds from Shane Corbett.
Alex Layson had 10, and Taylor Powell had 8 points and 11 rebounds.
Zach White and Hayden Gunter pitched in 9 apiece, and William Webster also had 8 for the No. 4 Warriors.
Both teams will host Glenwood on Tuesday, with the girls game set to begin at 6 p.m.
Smiths Station girls get past Russell Co.
SMITHS STATION — Erika Jones scored 21 points, Vannessa Peterson added 18 and the Smiths Station girls (18-3, 5-0 area) got a 60-53 win over Russell County on Saturday.
Briana Shephard scored 7 for the Panthers, who will hit the road to face Central on Tuesday.
Beulah girls crush Wadley
WADLEY — Beulah’s girls basketball team improved to 9-5 on the season and 2-1 in area play with a 58-24 win over Wadley on Saturday night.
Ariel Underwood led the way with 19 points, Iesha Crutchfield had 13, Erica Brooks pitched in 10 points and six rebounds and Victoria Richardson had 6 points and 12 rebounds.
Beulah will travel to face LaFayette on Tuesday.
Lanett JV tops Opelika
LANETT — Jamario Mitchell scored 20 points, but it wasn’t enough as Lanett squeaked by the Bulldogs, 38-37.
Paul Rowe added 6 points for the Bulldogs (5-6), who play at Russell County on Tuesday.
Central beats Opelika boys on Friday
PHENIX CITY — Central used a big fourth-quarter run to pull away from Opelika’s varsity boys, 52-46, Friday night.
Tay Calloway led Opleika with 14 points and David Thomas added 10.
Edward Bell sweeps Notasulga on Friday
CAMP HILL — Notasulga’s boys and girls suffered area defeats Friday night in losses to Edward Bell.
Edward Bell’s girls took a 70-57 win in overtime.
Kimesha Jackson led the Blue Devils (8-8) with 18 points, Natasha Williams had 15 points and 11 steals and Semetris Alexander had 11 points.
Natalie Copeland led Edward Bell with 32 points, Deshade Edwards had 21 and Caneisha Smith pitched in 15.
In the boys game, Edward Bell took an 82-69 win.
Damien Carr led Edward Bell with 27 points, and L.C. Turner, Nick Wilkerson and Jamie Edwards all scored 10.
Kenneth Tolbert led the Blue Devils (1-13) with 14 points, Fred McKenzie had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds, Nick Nettles scored 12 and Derek Hart added 10.
