MILLBROOK — Lee-Scott’s softball team (9-1) took three wins and a tournament championship on Saturday.
The Warriors won the Edgewood Tournament with a 10-4 win over Bessemer, a 3-0 win over Edgewood and a 4-2 win over Macon-East in the title game.
In the Bessemer win, Jessica Washington took the win at pitcher, and Alyssa Eason was 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple and four RBI.
In the Edgewood win, Summer Powell got the win in the circle. She also batted 2-for-3 with a home run and one RBI.
Eason was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Kelbi Burgering also batted 2-for-3.
In the championship game, Powell got the win at pitcher again. Eason and Washington both batted 2-for-3, and Burgering was 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Eason was named the tournament’s MVP, and Powell, Washington and Callie Rawlinson were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Warriors will next host Macon-East in a Region game Tuesday.
OHS takes two wins in Dothan on Saturday
DOTHAN — Opelika’s baseball team ran its record to 12-0 with a 10-2 win over Mosley (Fla.) High School and a 2-1 win over Northview.
Zach Blatt got the win on the mound in the Mosley game, going six innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out nine. He also batted 4-for-4 with three RBI on the day.
Matt Middleton was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, and Chase Dawson was 3-for-3.
The Northview game was called after five innings due to darkness.
Spencer Norrell got the win on the mound for Opelika, going five innings and allowing one run on three hits with seven strikeouts.
Brooks Robinson got Opelika’s only hit of the day, the game-winning RBI single to score Jake Crain in the top of the fifth.
The Bulldogs will host Shaw (Ga.) on Monday.
Glenwood picks up win in Border War Tourney
PHENIX CITY — Glenwood’s baseball team took a 7-4 win over Southland (Ga.) Academy on Saturday in the Border War Tournament.
Mathew Tooker improved to 2-0 on the mound with a four-strikeout performance.
Chad Robinson was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, Cody Owens was 3-for-3 with a run scored and Ethan Maske was 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Gators (7-1).
Glenwood was scheduled to play in the tournament title game, but that game was incomplete at press time.
