AREA ROUNDUP: Three LSA golfers named All-Stars

MONTGOMERY — Three Lee-Scott golfers were invited to attend the inaugural AISA All-Star Golf Tournament, known as the Meredith Cup, held Monday-Wednesday at Gateway Park Golf Course and Lagoon Park Golf Course.

Kyle Thommesen, Will Garner and Austin Murphey were three of 24 golfers invited to the Ryder Cup-style tournament. The golfers were divided into North and South teams.

The South took a 12.5-11.5 win in the tournament.

Murphey won all of his matches while competing for the North team, earning 2 points. Garner and Thomessen each earned 1.5 points for the North team.

The Meredith Cup will become an annual all-star event for AISA golfers.
