Hoover wins Game 1

MONTGOMERY - It wasn’t pretty.
Opelika suffered it’s third loss of the year Saturday in Game 2 of its Class 6A state championship series.
And it came in an ugly way as Hoover crushed the Bulldogs, 12-4.
That forced a Game 3 to decide the state title.
Opelika starter Zach Blatt was chased after just 2 1/3 inning as Hoover plated five runs in the third to go up, 6-0.
Releiver Spencer Norrell didn’t fair much better, as the Buccaneers plated two runs each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Opelika helped Hoover out, committing five errors.
The only bright spot for the Bulldogs came in fourth when Drake Sasser belted a two-run homer.
