Auburn 14s stay alive in World Series

COVINGTON, Ga. — After suffering its first loss of the 2008 Dixie Boys World Series on Sunday, the Auburn All-Star team battled back to beat Tennessee on Monday, 7-6, and stay alive in the double-elimination tournament.
Josh Rogers earned the win for Auburn after coming in to relieve starting pitcher Kyle Coker. Rogers threw the final 2 1/3 innings, giving up just three hits to nab the win.
At the plate, Mitchell Roland hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to give Auburn its first lead of the game. Kyler Deese was 3-for-3, while Tracy Brooks went 3-for-4 in the win.
Coker was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI. On the mound, Coker went 4 2/3 in the start and gave up four hits while striking out four.
Auburn tallied 11 hits in the game, while giving up just four.
The All-Star team will play at 4 p.m. Tuesday against the winner of Florida-Louisiana.
