Auburn Orange wins AAA state title

CLANTON — Auburn Orange is the Dixie Youth AAA (9-10) state champs.

Auburn captured the state crown Thursday after knocking off Dothan National, 8-2.

Auburn got the big night going early, scoring six runs in the first inning.

Bradley Northcutt got the win, pitching three innings and allowing just one run on six hits.

Offensively, Tyus Flakes ws 2-for-3, Austin Triplett was 2-for-2, Ryan Watson was 1-for-2 with a double, Hayden Williams was 2-for-3 and Ben Ruffin was 1-for-3 with a double.

Auburn Orange moves on to the Dixie Youth World Series which will be hosted by LaGrange, Ga. beginning Aug. 4.

Auburn opens play at 2:30 p.m. against the state champs from Florida.
