FRANCES GREEN GUERIN Frances Guerin passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Bethany House in Auburn. She was born in Franklin, Indiana on September 26, 1920, the daughter of Howard M. and Carrie B. Green. She was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Guerin, who served for many years as Auburn University's Campus Planner and Architect. They had been residents of Auburn since 1967. She is survived by two sons, Brad (Ann) Guerin of Charlotte, North Carolina and Whit (Suzanne) Guerin of Auburn, Alabama; three grandchildren, Lance (Lori) Guerin of Blakely, Pennsylvania, Abby (Josh) Westerhold of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Anna (Ryan) Thompson of Granby, Colorado; and three great-grandchildren, Kyle and Reese Guerin and Halsey Thompson. Frances worked for many years in the Dean of Engineering's Office at Auburn University. She was a member of Auburn United Methodist Church and the Joel McDavid Sunday School Class. She served in various organizations in Auburn including the Chamber of Commerce, the Campus Club, the Auburn Woman's Club, and as a volunteer for the East Alabama Medical Center for twenty years. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18th, at 5:00 p.m. at Auburn United Methodist Church's Founders Chapel. A funeral service at a later date will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, where she will be interred with her late husband, Bill. Remembering Loved Ones - How to Submit an Obituary

All obituary notices must be submitted through a funeral home. Funeral homes must submit obituaries and photo’s to no later than 3:00pm the day before the obituary is to be published.

Please send notices in a word document, and pictures in a jpeg format. All obituary notices run 7 days a week in the Opelika-Auburn News, on, and mobile.
