More than three hours before tipoff of the Auburn-Kentucky basketball game, Gus Malzahn was handing out pizza to the hundreds of fans standing in line outside Auburn Arena.

At halftime, Auburn’s new head football coach addressed the sold-out, orange-clad crowd inside with a promise.
