Justin Garrett didn’t know much about his new defensive coordinator when Auburn hired Ellis Johnson in December, but he learned quickly.
Players chattered about the incoming coordinator — what to expect, where they fit, how much better things could be than 2012. Naturally, it didn’t take long to figure out Johnson played a 4-2-5 system, a rare setup featuring a third safety that morphs into a linebacker.
