The third annual Aprilfest, a craft beer and food event, will take place at The Hotel at Auburn University on Friday, April 5 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Craft beer enthusiasts can gather in the Terrace Room and around the pool to sample 26 craft beers paired with dishes created by the Ariccia culinary team. Live musical entertainment will also be provided.
“Throughout the year, the Ariccia culinary staff works closely with regional craft breweries to host monthly beer dinners and specials, so it was only natural to host the third-annual Aprilfest,” said Ariccia Chef Garry Anderson. “An event like Aprilfest allows our team to showcase their culinary creativity while introducing beer lovers to all types of craft brews.”
The following breweries from Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan and Mississippi will be providing samples of their craft beers: Railyard Brewery, Straight to Ale, Abita, Avondale, Lazy Magnolia, Bell’s Brewery, Chattahoochee Brewing Company, Yellowhammer, Heavy Seas, Oskar Blues, Blue Pants, and Terrapin.
Each beer will be paired with a creative small plate. Highlights from the menu include: Grilled Duck Breast with Spiced Green Papaya Salad, Chicken & Smoked Gouda Pot Stickers with Gazpacho, Lobster and Scallion Croquettes with Poblano Chile Sauce, Grilled Shrimp and New Orleans Crab Cakes with Roasted Corn Salad and Red Pepper Coulis, and much more.
Tickets for the event are $39 per person and can be purchased in advance online at http://auburnaprilfest.bpt.me/. They will also be sold at the door, based on availability, for $45 per person.
