Auburn Area Community Theatre’s Young Performers are excited to present the smash hit movie musical come to life on stage: Disney’s High School Musical Jr.

It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The couple cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the "status quo," Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.

With memorable, danceable songs, this cast of 26 13-18 year olds is sure to delight audiences of all ages. The cast and all teen stage crew, representing 7 local schools, is under the direction of Auburn University Theatre majors Bailey Murphy and assistant Brantley Waller. Choreography is by Lexi Scarbrough and musical direction is by Auburn University Theatre alum Rachel Pair.

Performances will take place at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center on 222 E Drake Ave., Auburn, Alabama on February 28th, 29th, March 2nd, and 5th-7th at 6:30 p.m. with matinees on February 29th and March 7th at 2 p.m. Runtime is approximately 1 hour with no intermission.
