Please join us on Monday, October 21st at 7:00 pm as we welcome Carla Crowder from Alabama Appleseed Center for Law and Justice (http://www.alabamaappleseed.org/) to discuss marijuana law reform in Alabama.

The 2019 Legislature set up the Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission to study whether or not Alabama should join 34 other states in legalizing medical marijuana. Senator Tim Melson, R-Florence, a medical doctor, chairs the commission that has met twice already and will meet once a month until the end of this year.

The talk is free and open to the public. Please invite your friends to join us and learn more about this contentious topic. The League of Women Voters does not have a position on legalizing medical or recreational marijuana use.

We will meet at the Auburn First Baptist Church (128 E. Glenn Ave. in Auburn; enter the Fellowship Hall from S. College St.). Doors open at 6:30 and the program begins at 7:00.
