Football season at Auburn University gives students a unique opportunity to showcase their school-spirited style. They tailgate and cheer on the Tigers while combining gameday-appropriate comfort with the latest trends.
Peyton Jemison is a senior majoring in accounting.
“This outfit is great because I could wear it on other occasions, but the splash of orange around the neck makes it perfect for football games,” Peyton said.
She said she loves this Jack by BB Dakota romper, which she got at Behind the Glass, because it is easy to throw on, and it is perfect on hot gamedays. Peyton said that comfortable shoes are a must for gameday, and her Steve Madden sandals fit the bill perfectly. Peyton loves vintage accessories, and her vintage Louis Vuitton purse completes her gameday outfit.
“On gameday, go for ‘cute comfort,’” Peyton said. “While you want to look good, you’ll be at the game for a long time, so comfort is a must.”
Hannah Johnston is a senior majoring in public relations.
“My outfit incorporates Auburn colors, but it’s not over the top,” Hannah said.
She got her Free People shirt from Behind the Glass, and her jeans are Free People too. Hannah said the navy jeans are her splash of Auburn color.
“They are my absolute favorite jeans,” Hannah said. “Every time I wear them, it’s a good day.”
Hannah’s wedges are Steve Madden. She said despite them being wedges, they are very comfortable shoes. She can wear them all day long with no pain. Hannah said it is important to dress in what makes you feel good about yourself on gameday.
“Be sure to check the weather too, and dress accordingly,” Hannah said.
Emma Grace Laird is a senior majoring in rehabilitation and disability studies. Like Peyton, Emma Grace said the best part about her outfit is that her dress is easy to throw on.
“It’s unbelievably comfortable,” Emma Grace said.
Her UMGEE dress allows her to show off her local style – it’s from Tucker Brown, a boutique in her hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. She takes any opportunity she can to wear her favorite shoes, these Dolce Vita heels. Emma Grace echoed Hannah’s advice to check the weather before picking a gameday outfit. She also said it’s important to remember that on gameday, the outfit you put on in the morning is the outfit you’ll wear all day long.
“Make sure you won’t have to worry about your outfit once you leave your house,” she said.
