I like choices. Always have. Always will.
In my book, choices allow you to get what you want … or at least close to what you want. And I’m fine with “close” because at least I had a little bit of a choice.
Choices is what brought me to Chicken Salad Chick for my food review. Before Chicken Salad Chick, I liked the idea of chicken salad, but never ordered it. I’m not a big fan of raw onions, and everywhere that I had ever been had onions in the chicken salad. So I didn’t eat the chicken salad.
Chicken Salad Chick lets me opt-out of the onions.
On my recent visit, I ordered a trio of chicken salads – one scoop each of Olivia’s Old South, which has sweet pickles and egg; Barbie-Q, which sports a hickory smoked barbecue flavor; and Sassy Scotty, a blend of ranch, bacon and shredded cheddar cheese. My scoops also came with crackers, a pickle spear and a cookie.
All three of the chicken salads were good, and, as you would imagine, distinctly different, which I also liked. They tasted very fresh and filled you up. It was plenty of food.
My meal – I didn’t get a drink – was $10.89. I decided to go into the restaurant, but could have easily gone through the drive-thru. The staff was friendly and helpful … and quick. I had my food in no time.
In addition to my three choices, the restaurant offers many more chicken salads – Classic Carol, Lauryn’s Lemon Basil, Dixie Chick, Fancy Nancy, Fruity Fran, Cranberry Kelli, Buffalo Barclay, Jalapeno Holly and Kickin’ Kay Lynne. There’s also pimento cheese, egg salad, soups, green salads, signature sandwiches and a host of sides.
With all those choices, you can’t go wrong.
