Tyrone Bell, one of the owners of Blues Seas Seafood, has a simple mission with his restaurant. āWe want to provide great food at a great price,ā he said.
Bell along with his wife Stephanye and co-owners Dewayne Ware and Cynthia Ware opened Blue Seas Seafood in January. These Opelika High School graduates have earned some loyal customers with their extensive menu and selection of fresh seafood.
āOur seafood is not frozen,ā said Bell. āWe receive fresh shipments three times each week.ā
Their fresh seafood options include catfish, whiting, flounder, grouper, snapper, shrimp (small, medium or large), crab legs and oysters by the dozen, half bushel or bushel. Blue Seas Seafood orders special fresh seafood items by request.
Items cooked to order at the restaurant include most of the above as well as frog legs, calamari, crab cakes and gator.
Ā In addition to the seafood items, kitchen manager John Rodgers and crew turn out a variety of side dishes including black-eyed peas, dirty rice, hush puppies, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, cole slaw, green beans, Texas toast and French fries.
Blue Seas offers daily lunch specials starting at just $6.99 including a drink. Located at 2055 East University Drive in Auburn, they are Monday through Saturday.
