O Town in Opelika is hands down one of the most inviting places I’ve ever visited. It’s just happy there. And who doesn’t like happy.
I visited the shop for lunch this week for my food review, and as I walked in, it seemed like a great place to bring the kids, hang out with friends, have a date night or go for a solo treat.
Though the ice cream was certainly tempting – an employee was making waffle cones while I was there and the smell was heavenly – I was in search of more savory fare. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
After a look at the menu, I ordered a pimento cheese sandwich. The other sandwiches included chicken salad, BLT and turkey and Swiss.
I decided to make it a combo, which means I had my choice of chips and a drink. My sandwich bread of choice was a croissant. The pimento cheese was good and tasted homemade, which means I’ll be ordering it again. Before tax, my combo was $6.99.
In addition to its ice cream and lunch, O Town also has a coffee menu, real Italian ice and cookies.
More reasons why it’s a happy place.
