Julia Kendrick Turner and Richard Scott Brown were united in marriage October 29, 2016 at five o’clock in the evening at the Lake Junaluska Memorial Chapel, Lake Junaluska, NC. The Reverend Sandy Giles officiated. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. A reception followed at Maggie Valley Club, Maggie Valley, NC.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Turner of Waynesville, NC. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Turner of Arden, NC, Mr. Richard and the late Mrs. Ann Trevarthen of Waynesville, NC, and the late Mr. Richard Hargrove of Huntsville, AL. She is a graduate of Auburn University and is employed with Verizon.
The groom is the son of Dr. Lynn and Mr. Richard Brown of Auburn, AL. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Greenleaf of Atlanta, GA and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Brown of Thomaston, GA. He is a graduate of Auburn University and is employed with LPL Financial.
Maids of honor were Miss Mary Coulter and Miss Grace Williamson. Bridesmaids were Erin Brown, Lydia Brown, Jennie Kimel, and Catryn Painter. Bestman was Richard Brown, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Arthur Strauss, Julian Costa, Nick Mullenix, and Rudy Hauenstein. Assisting were Madaline Hargrove, Elizabeth Hargrove, and Will Hargrove.
Special music for the ceremony was written and arranged by Richard Trevarthen and the late Madaline Strain Kendrick. Vocalists were Dee Tsintzos, Emily Nagle, and Kayln Wiley. Musicians were Steve McClure, David Teague, Fletcher Peacock, and John Barrett.
After a honeymoon trip to Antigua, the couple reside in Charlotte.
