Many young ladies have an idea of what they want their wedding day to look like. On Sunday, they had help shaping that vision.

Future brides along with their friends and family attended the Opelika-Auburn News 2017 Bridal Expo at the Auburn Marriott Opelika Hotel and Conference Center at Grand National.

More than 250 people attended this year’s event, according to Rex Maynor, publisher at the Opelika-Auburn News.

Attendees got a chance to experience vendors specializing in everything from cakes and catering to travel and photography services.

Smiths Station resident Katie McCain was impressed with the variety of vendors at the event.

“It’s really nice,” McCain said.

Auburn resident Tammy Norris said the event helped her get ideas for a venue for her daughter’s wedding.

“It’s great,” Norris said.

Auburn resident Altoree Harris enjoyed the event.

“I think it’s a great opportunity to find ideas,” Harris said.

The event had two Style for the Aisle fashion shows that showcased different types of bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and tuxedoes.

Door prizes, which included gift cards and accessories, were drawn throughout the duration of the event along with a grand prize drawing held at the end of the event.

The presenting sponsor at the event was Special Arrangements. Other sponsors this year included Auburn Awards, Auburn Marriott Opelika Hotel and Conference Center at Grand National, Auburn University, David’s Bridal, Elegant Bridal Boutique, The Event Group, FlipFlop Foto, The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center, Jim Massey’s Formals, Jule Collins Museum of Fine Art, Memories in Motion, Mike Jones Entertainment and Events, Southern Bride and Ursula’s Catering.

All proceeds from the event benefited Newspapers in Education, which provides newspapers to local schools for educational purposes.
