For those couples planning an upcoming wedding, the Opelika Auburn News will host its annual Bridal Extravaganza on Sunday. The event will be held 1-4 p.m. at the Auburn Marriott Opelika Hotel and Conference Center at Grand National in Opelika.
The expo will host more than 30 vendors specializing in hair and beauty, fashion and jewelry, catering and venues, photography and entertainment and more. Thousands of prizes will be given away throughout the event.
Fashion models will walk the floor throughout the event, in lieu of the usual fashion show.
“This year we’re trying something different,” said Shelia Haydel, advertising director at the Opelika-Auburn News. “In lieu of having a fashion show where people have to wait for the show, they can still visit all of the vendors while the models walk around the venue and this will give them a better chance to get a closer look at the dresses and tuxedos.”
Tickets are available at oanow.com/weddings and at the Opelika-Auburn News office. They are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
Only cash and checks will be accepted at the door. All of the funds from the event will benefit the Newspapers in Education program.
Sponsors for the event include Georgia TLC Events, PRE Event Resources; Flip Flop Foto; Auburn Awards; Marriott Auburn Opelika Hotel & Conference Center at Grand National; Mike Jones Entertainment & Events; Special Arrangements; Dillard’s; The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center; Memories in Motion; Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, Auburn University and Ursula’s Catering; and Uptown Gowns.
