Southern Living believes Auburn is one of the best towns in the South in which to retire.

The magazine recently named Auburn to its South’s Best Retirement Towns 2019 list, which includes 27 towns throughout the South.

Auburn is the only town in Alabama to make the list, according to a recent article by Southern Living.

The article describes Auburn as a place where “students mingle happily with locals – including retirees who love all the golf, arts and culture available on ‘The Plains’ and enjoy the excitement and energy of those Tigers.”

Also, the article notes Acre’s pimiento cheese and burgers, Chewacla State Park and the town’s proximity to Montgomery.
