An Auburn woman is in custody after a handgun was sold locally after it was reported stolen earlier this year.
Erin Hydia Daniels, 25, was arrested on warrants charging her with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and second-degree theft of property, Auburn police said.
Daniels’ arrest stems from an investigation into a breaking and entering a motor vehicle that occurred in the 1100 block of South College Street in March. A handgun was reported stolen, police said.
“During the investigation, Auburn police discovered the gun had been sold locally after it was stolen,” a release from Auburn police reads.
Daniels was then identified as the suspect and the gun was recovered.
She was taken into custody and taken to the Lee County Jail where she was being held on a $6,000 bond.
This case remains under investigation by the Auburn Police Division.
