Auburn police arrested a Notasulga teen who was out on bond for a sexual assault charge in Tallapoosa County, charging him during the weekend with multiple theft-related crimes.
Jacoreyious Tyreck Walker, 18, was arrested Saturday on warrants charging him with four counts of breaking and entering auto, first-degree theft of property, two counts of third-degree theft of property, fourth-degree theft of property and second-degree possession of marijuana, Auburn police said in a Monday morning news release.
Auburn police performed a traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle after several vehicles were broken into in the Longleaf Drive and Wire Road areas of Auburn, police said.
Inside the vehicle, driven by Walker, was evidence from several thefts. Walker, the driver of the vehicle, was taken into custody, police said.
Additionally, a search of Walker’s residence resulted in the location of several firearms, one of which was stolen Thursday night, said police.
Walker was transported to the Lee County Jail where he was being held on a $22,000 bond. At the time of Walker’s arrest in Auburn, he was out on bond from a charge of sexual assault in Tallapoosa County, police said.
Police added that additional charges, as well as a possible bond revocation, are anticipated. The case remains under investigation by the Auburn Police Division.
