The Opelika Police Department is requesting for the public’s help in identifying a burglary and theft suspect in connection to an incident at an area gas station last month.

Opelika police received a call of a burglary and theft of property at Sunoco Gas Station, located at 2400 West Point Parkway, on June 27, police said.

About 11:40 p.m. that Thursday, a black male suspect broke the glass door and entered the store, stealing packs of cigarettes, according to police.

The suspect left the scene and traveled east on U.S. 29 North in a white, newer model Nissan Altima.

Police ask that anyone with information on this incident or who recognizes the suspect or the vehicle to contact the Opelika Police Department Detective Division at 334-705-5220 or the Secret Witness Hotline at 334-745-8665. Callers may remain anonymous.
