The Opelika Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a recent theft incident.

A fraudulent use of credit/debit card and theft of property occurred Thursday, June 6, at Walmart, 2900 Pepperell Pkwy., Opelika police said in a Wednesday morning news release.

The suspect used the victim’s information to purchase several pre-paid Visa credit cards.

Police describe the suspect as a black male who is about 6-feet 1-inch tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt with white lettering on the front and dark blue shorts with white tennis shoes.

Police ask anyone with any information on this incident, or who can identify the suspect, to contact the Opelika Police Department Investigative Services Division at 334-705-5220 or the Secret Witness Hotline at 334-745-8665.
