* MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 27 FEET.
* THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 29.4 FEET BY AFTER MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT. THE RIVER WILL FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE SUNDAY EVENING.
* AT 30 FEET...MINOR FLOODING CONTINUES ALONG THE RIVER UPSTREAM
AND DOWNSTREAM FROM THE GAGE ON THE 14TH STREET BRIDGE. LARGE
PORTIONS OF THE RIVER WALK IN COLUMBUS WILL BE FLOODED UP TO 3 FEET
DEEP. THE WATER LEVEL REACHES THE TOP OF THE BOAT RAMP BEHIND THE
COLUMBUS CONVENTION AND TRADE CENTER. THE PHENIX CITY AMPHITHEATER
IN ALABAMA WILL BE FLOODED UP TO TWO FEET DEEP. PORTIONS OF THE
RIVER WALK IN PHENIX CITY WILL BEGIN TO FLOOD.

Funeral service for Mrs. Wilmer Barnett, 89, of the Beauregard Community will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Peterson and Williams Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Rising Star Church Cemetery. Pastor J. C. Winters will officiate. Mrs. Barnett passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Oak Park Nursing Home. She was a member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by: one son, Jimmy (Minister Cherry) Barnett of Opelika, AL; five grandchildren, Talferio "Anudrae" Barnett, Kira Grady, Cheukemia Grady, Tila Grady and Keyare Grady all of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
October 6, 1947 - December 29, 2019 Born October 6, 1947 to John and Muriel Clarke. He is one of ten siblings. James has two daughters, Tammy (Clarke) Jeffs and Kimberly Clarke. His family grew to include six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was a great painter and loved being a backyard mechanic. Jim would wave and smile at everyone that he would come in contact with. His motto was to help everyone that he could. The family is asking for community support during this tragic time. A memorial service will be held 10:00am, February 22, 2020, at First Baptist Church, 301 S 8th St, Opelika, Alabama 36801. Visitation will be before the service from 9:00am until 10:00am. All family, friends, neighbors and supporters are welcomed to attend. All condolences and contributions are welcomed. It is with deep sorrow, that James life was unlawfully taken. Manner of death is homicide. If anyone has any information regarding this case, please contact the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
