Memorial service for Francine Bennett-Jackson will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019, 12 noon at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. W.L. Muse will officiate. Francine was the daughter of the late Stewart and Mabel T. Bennett. She was born May 23, 1957 in Tuskegee, AL. On Saturday, May 11, 2019, God called home one of his beloved, Mrs. Francine Bennett-Jackson. At an early age she devoted her life to Christ by joining Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Auburn, AL where she served faithfully and held several positions throughout the years. In Anchorage, she faithfully attended and served at New Hope Baptist Church. Francine attended public schools in Auburn, AL and was a graduate of Auburn High School. She continued her education at Knoxville College, Ohio State University and the University of Alaska Anchorage. As an educator for over 40 years, of which more than 27 years were in the Anchorage School District, she taught at the following schools: Clark Jr. High, Bartlett High School, and S.A.V.E. High School. She was an administrator at Bartlett High School, South High School, and Begich Middle School. Prior to working in Anchorage, Francine taught at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama, Mercy Cross Catholic High School in Biloxi, Mississippi, and RAF Alconbury High School in Alconbury, England. She served her community through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Anchorage Library Board, Clare House, Phi Delta Kappa, and mentor ship. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband of 37 years, Robert of Anchorage, AK, son Courtney (Te'Nesha) Jackson, of Dallas, TX and a daughter Dr. Amanda Jackson, of Mobile, AL a brother Geoffrey (Marquetta) Bennett of Auburn, AL, sister Carolyn Bennett-Lapsley of Montgomery, AL, sister-in-laws Glenda (Jerry) Whitten, of Auburn, AL and Ann Howard of Syracuse, NY, mother figure Geraldine Dunk, of Auburn, AL nieces, Chiqrita (Yeasive) Ware of Beauregard, AL, Shannon Fitch of Auburn, AL and Tori Bennett of Montgomery, AL, nephews, Darrion (Yolanda) Lapsley of Birmingham, AL and Geoffrey (Jeborea) Bennett of Crestview, FL, aunt Vicki Thomas of Cincinnati, OH, and a host of family and friends.
