Illegal residents don’t come from Ohio

This has been a somewhat disturbing day.

The state of Alabama - at best - distrusts the state of Ohio and - at worst - calls it a liar.

My daughter moved here and wanted to get an Alabama driver's license but her Ohio license, Social Security card and copy of birth certificate was not enough proof that she was a human-being from the United States. Even though this documentation allowed her into Canada and then into-and-through a police academy in Ohio... in Alabama she is seen as, at best, untrustworthy.

The employees at the tag/license office were very polite, but they were under the same shadow as my daughter – no choice.

The state of Alabama is one of beauty and so many good things, but this degree of pointless distrust is a shame upon it and one that should be corrected.

Illegal residents don't come from Ohio!

America is becoming more pagan

The front page of Tuesday’s Opelika-Auburn News revealed the truth about same-sex marriage.

The fact that the two men rejecting the laws of God were supposedly married in front the Lee County Courthouse by an ordained pagan minister at Nine Worlds American Kindred in Auburn speaks loudly to the wickedness of this practice. The word pagan is defined in the dictionary as one who is a heathen, one who has little or no religion, one who delights in sensual pleasures and material goods, and one who is irreligious or a hedonistic person.

The word heathen is defined as one who is an unconverted member of a people or nation that does not acknowledge the God of the Bible. The word hedonism is defined as the doctrine that pleasure or happiness is the sole or chief good of life. Therefore a hedonistic person is one who follows that doctrine.

I used the word supposedly married, because according to Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary (1973) the two men were not marriageable. The word marriageable is defined as being of age to be married, to be fit to be married, and to be capable of union. They are not capable of union.

The two men are also a sign of the last days spoken of in the Bible in II Timothy 3:1-4, where the word of God says that "men shall be lovers of their own selves," "lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God." I suppose that some will now advocate to change the meaning of these words as defined in the dictionary, and they will fulfill the scripture that says, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;" (Isaiah 5:20)

It is evident that our nation, through our federal courts, is acknowledging God less, and we are becoming a nation with more and more pagans. It is a dangerous thing to forget God. To do so will only bring woe and turn our nation into hell.

Some seek ‘non-Biblical’ marriages

Conservative Christians are demanding mandatory Biblical marriages for all American citizens who wish to marry.

Sadly, one of the longest marriage traditions is of marrying girl children to men. At present, the members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are still employing this practice with the complete expectation of approval from Jesus Christ. In addition, the Old Testament has a number of men blessed by the Lord (Lamech, Abraham, Jacob, David, Esau, Solomon, Moses, Gideon, Elkanah) who have multiple wives, concubines, or at least with Abraham, the Lord’s approval for sexual relations with a slave woman.

Furthermore, the Bible is replete with commands that a wife should submit to her husband in everything as if she were submitting to the Lord, a requirement not reversed for the husband to the wife. Of course, divorce is clearly forbidden in the Bible, and women who have divorced and remarried are considered to have committed adultery. Unfortunately, the Bible also has many passages stating that death is the proper punishment for adultery.

Some conservative Christians are also demanding mandatory childbearing for wives. For some, especially Catholics, this means that sexual intimacy cannot occur without procreation. Given the Biblical authority of the husband and rejection of divorce, wives could get pregnant every year until menopause or death. For all women, this would be hell.

When conservative Christians provide explicit, indisputable, Jesus Christ-authorized tenets of Biblical marriage, then they can have their true Biblical marriage. The rest of us will choose to have non-traditional, non-Biblical marriages which would involve two fully consenting adults with each having equal rights and option for divorce. In addition, we can happily choose to bear children, adopt children, foster children, be active “aunties” or “uncles” or live a life without raising children.
